Description
This is a 23"x 30" framed advertisement for Winslow's Patent Vineyard Roller skates. The company was started by Seth Winslow in the 1850s as a maker of ice skates, started manufacturing roller skates when Seth passed away and his brother Samuel took over the business in the 1880s. The most popular model was the 'Vineyard' model, invented and produced by Samuel Winslow. It was sold all over the world. The shoe has a wood base with leather straps and wooden and brass wheels. The Skate Rink in Cottage City was even named after this shoe 'Vineyard Roller Skating Rink'. The model was also presented at that rink for the first time.
