Description
Robert Rauschenberg (Am. 1925-2008). A vintage exhibition poster for the 1963 Jewish Museum exhibition held at the Jewish Theological Seminary of Rauschenberg's work. This is marked as being published by "The Jewish Museum UNIVERSAL LIMITED ART EDITIONS New York". This is likely from the unlimited edition published at the time of the exhibition as there is no signature. Note: The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) has an example of the signed limited edition (of 200) with the same publication line, (lower right). The work is framed, under glass. The frame is in poor condition and is literally falling apart. We would not recommend shipping in the frame. Measures: 32 3/4'' X 22 3/4'' Provenance: Ex-estate of Edward Oleksak. Oleksak was a photographer and was friends/associated with both Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg. Some of his earlier photographic works documented the goings on at The Factory.
Condition
Good. Some light moisture marking to bottom right edge. Not examined out of frame.
