Peter Birkhäuser studied at the Decorative Arts School in Basel and apprenticed in Stoecklin's studio before setting out on his own as a poster designer. He became one of Switzerland's most accomplished "New Objectivity" artists. His best designs are realistically detailed and meticulously rendered, such as this image showing the price calculations done by a price conscious customer, who has done the math and is determined to shop at Globus.
