Attr. Ernest Lawson
New York, Connecticut, Canada, France,1873-1939
Impressionist depiction of a small stream winding through a forested path. Lawson was part of a group of New York painters known as "The Eight" inspired by urban scenes and landscapes along the Hudson River. Lawson started his education at Kansas City Art Institute followed by Santa Clara Art Academy, Art Students League, and under John Twachtmann and J. Alden Weir before studying at the Academy Julian with Jean Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant.
