Description
Late 18th-early 19th century, mahogany with pine secondary. Inlaid bands on top edge and above legs. Four dovetailed drawers with applied beading. Wrought nails including square on the backboards. Refinished with minor age splits, surface scuffs and nailed beading repair. 38"H. 39.5"w. 22.25"d. From the collection of James W. Gibbs, Salem, Ohio.
Condition
Drawers have replaced pulls and escutcheons. Inlay mostly complete, small replaced section back right corner base, splits on bottom right side where there are splits in apron and minor loss on bottom left along nicks in corner. Age splits in bottom of right side and bottom drawer base. Split to beading on bottom drawer, pieced repair to bottom edge of 3rd drawer and along front between 3rd and 4th drawers. Slight edge loss to back of top, top has two scratches, a putty filled hole on right side and scuff mark on left side.
