4 Imari Style (Chinoiserie), Early 19th Century, Masons Ironstone Plates, England. Four early 19th Century and boldly decorated Masons Patent Ironstone plates. All four have softly scalloped shaped edges and hand painted with iron red, cobalt and ocher in a chinoiserie these plates are in excellent condition, showing little signs of wear. Two have the transfer printed mark 'Mason's Patent Ironstone China' with Dublin retailer Thomas Higginbotham* (c1800-1830) and while all four plates are virtually the same design, the Higgenbotham pieces are slightly deeper plates than the other pair. The other two have "Mason's Patent Ironstone China, Morley's" and slightly flatter. Overall these plates are in excellent condition given their 150 years boasting no chips, breaks or repairs and display beautifully. Very collectible pieces.
