Description
Hugo Brehme (1882-1954) was born in Germany and moved to Mexico in 1905. During the development of the Mexican Revolution he photographed the different revolutionary factions. He toured the country once the armed conflict in Mexico ended, after which he managed to form an important collection of views of Mexican cities. He settled down professionally in Mexico City, opening a studio. In 1919, he opened another studio which he called "Hugo Brehme Art Photography". That's where Manuel Álvarez Bravo worked and learned the basics of photography and the production of postcards.
