Description
A pair of original limited edition “Orientalist” etchings in color, titles – “An Eastern Shopkeeper”, and “An Eastern Dancer”, titled in pencil lower left, signed in pencil lower right, both pieces approximate 4 ½ in. X 3 7/8 in. sight, framed 14 in. x 10 in., circa 1925.
Edgar Pattison, a member of the Society of Graphic Artists, is best known for his color etchings depicting areas and scenes where he traveled in North Africa, the Middle East, and the Orient. Born in London, he studied at the Lambeth School of Art. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy of Arts between 1906 -1935, as well as in many other venues and galleries. His prints were typically done in editions of 175 impressions. He became adept at using a combination of drypoint to delineate his basic image, and aquatint for the larger areas of color.

Condition
Not examined out of frames, but visible prints are in good condition with no damage, vibrant colors, no visible stains or foxing.
