Lot of 6 Japanese early Meiji period heavily illustrated books, traditional Japanese bindings, woodblock printed on double-leaves of ricepaper:1. Famous One Hundred persons in Meiji Era (明治英名百人首, Meiji eimei hyaku Nin’ Shu), edited by Otokuma Yasui (安井乙熊), 1880. 1 vol. 18 cm. Good condition (wear to cover).2. Tales of Governors of Prefectures (府県長官銘々傳 全, Huken Chokan Meimei Den Zen), 1882. 1 vol. 18 cm. Good condition (wear to cover).3. Shinbun kisha kikouden (Tales of Eccentric conducts by Newspapermen, 新聞記者奇行傳), 1881. Many woodblock prints by Kobayashi Eitaku included in the text. 1 vol. 18 cm. Good condition (wear to cover, several pages slightly faded).4. Collection of short stories (寄合ばなし, Yoriai Banashi), by Sakakibara Koresuke, second volume, 1874. Several double-leaves of woodblock illustrations. Good condition (wear and stains to cover). 5. Hito No Kagami (人之鏡, Human mirror/ Paragon of Human Virtue), by Gakumu-ka Hensan (Academic Affairs Division, Ehime Prefecture), 1927. 21.5 cm. Featuring 6 woodblock illustrations. Good condition (wear and stains to covers). 6. Tsuhzoku Kyuri (通俗窮理話), by Kanagaki Robun. 2 vols, featuring many woodblock illustrations in the text. Good condition (wear and stains to covers).
