Description
This is an interesting family archive with notes on finding certain family members buried at the Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. The map is from 1861 with hand written notes along the border and on separate pieces of paper. Included is the hard cover outer jacket for the map itself. Names include Oliver Delancey Ward (b1810-d1873) and John F. Molesky (b1868-d1915) as well as others. Green-Wood Cemetery was built in 1838 and is the final resting place of some very well known names from history such as Louis Comfort Tiffany, Henry Ward Beecher, Charles Ebbets (Ebbets Field, owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers), Duncan Phyfe, Nathaniel Currier (Currier & Ives) and more.
Condition
Map originally was a fold out from the hard cover, creases from years and years of use, yellowing in a section. Overall for age, all very good, could be framed and well preserved.
