He created a number of limited-edition abstracts, as well as interpretive sculptures. Chester Solomont was born to Russian Immigrants, from an area that is now Known as Vilnius Poland. Chester’s family left a war-torn town which was under Russian control when they immigrated to the United States in the late 1800s.Chester was born in Boston, MA where his parents and extended family settled. His Grandfather was a Rabi. His Uncle a world renown pianist Chester worked in advertising and editorial departments. He worked on his art part-time. Chester moved from MA to Southern California where he opened his own advertising and print business, and continued to make art in his spare time. Chester married and had 2 children, a boy and girl. He and his family lived in many cities throughout Southern California, likely affecting his artist vision.
