DESCRIPTION: Ninety pieces Reed and Barton Sterling dinner service in Lark pattern designed by John Prip in 1960. Includes twenty-four 7-5/8 " forks, eight 7-1/8 " salad forks, thirteen 9 " Sterling-handled butter knives, four 7 " Sterling-handled butter spreaders, 10-5/8 " Sterling-handled cake server, twelve 7 " tablespoons, twenty-two 6-1/4 " teaspoons, two 6-1/8 " sugar spoons, 6-1/2 " solid jelly server, 6-3/8 " pickle/olive fork, 6 " infant feeding spoon, and 4-3/4 " olive fork. MEASUREMENTS: 87.5 ozt (not including butter knives, spreaders, and cake server, which are calculated at .5 ozt each). John Axel Prip (1922–2009), was a master metalsmith known for setting standards of excellence in American metalsmithing. His works and designs have become famous for bringing together the formal, technical tradition of Danish design into harmony with the American desire for innovation.
