Description

DESCRIPTION: Mixed wood ladies writing desk or escritoire in the Aesthetic Taste circa 1880-1890. Small desk with an ebonized ground inside and out over which are hand painted floral and bird decoration with gilding. Trestle base with the desk box on top. The desk opens to reveal the usual pigeonholes and a red baize writing surface. A fine example of this form in original surface. MEASUREMENTS: 2 1" wide x 5 " deep x 41-1/2 " high. CONDITION: Wear to gilt and paint. Key present and working. Wear to legs and feet. IMPORTANT: Before bidding, please read the terms and conditions.
