Description
A Chinese hardwood paperweight inset with a Qing dynasty jade hairpin. The paperweight has been carved to resemble a ruyi wand with the jade hairpin acting as its shaft. The jade is incised with a Shou medallion.
Dimensions are: 1 3/4 inches tall X 9 1/4 inches wide, 4.4 cm X 23.5 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is a small chip to the bottom tip of the ruyi wand of the weight, but the weight is in overall good condition. The jade is in good condition.
Provenance: From a private Long Island, New York collection.
