Condition
The case retains what appears to be an old surface with rubbing to the finish throughout from past cleaning, and some imbedded grime at the low spots. Pendulum is present; key and weights are not. There are normal small chips and flakes to the edges of carved surfaces, and some larger losses, notably: the tips of seven of the antlers; a break where a crossbar joins a gun stock; two chips to the bell of the horn, one about 1" by 1/2", the other about 2" by 3/4"; a loss to the tip of a lower bird's wing, about 2" by 1/2", and a loss to the face carving of an oak leaf, about 1" by 5/8".
