Framed antique lot of 3 pictures. All genuine and of the era. (1) Velocipede print from Harper’s Weekly magazine of New York City of May 1, 1869. Titled “The Velocipede Mania - What It May Come To!” Drawn by Thomas Worth. The street is full of velocipede bicycles and tricycles. Includes business men, a soldier, milkman, baker, farmer and others. Humorously, it shows Shanks Livery Stable closed seemingly because horses are no longer necessary. Consequently they are butchered and the horse Meat Shop is now open next door. Genuine wood block engraving of the era. Modern framing. Exterior of frame is 15-3/4” x 11-3/4”. Very good overall.; (2) Engraving of two Penny Farthing Cyclists chatting up two lady tricyclists on their Sociable. From Punch of London England. Titled “Modern Athletics – A Diplotribicyclical Quartet. Dated June 10, 1882. Exterior is 9-3/4” x 8”. Contemporary print in modern framing. Very good condition; (3) Color chromolithograph titled "KEEPING UP WITH THE TIMES - THE PROGRESSIVE TRAMP TAKES TO THE WHEEL", published in PUCK, November 1887. High Wheel Cyclist (a tramp) panhandling the “gentry upper class” while in their carriage in a Central Park type scene. Artist is C. J. (Charles Jay) Taylor who lived from 1855-1929 and whose work can be found at the Smithsonian). J. Ottmann Litho of N.Y. – Puck Building – N. Y. Exterior of the Frame is 16-3/4” x 13-3/4”.
