Description
Oil on canvas, depicting a swan and a pair of herons in a marsh. A large composition, the work is 18th century, and appears to have a monogram or notation in the lower left, as well as a pair of notations (or numbers) cut off in the lower center. Relined, most likely in the 19th century.

The work is prominently featured in an Architectural Digest issue, "The Collectors", 1982, as being in the collection of art historian Robert Allen in Manhattan. It is purportedly attributed to Theodore van Thulden (Dutch, 1606-1669) in the article.
