Catalog Note:
Robert C. Spencer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Spencer had a long-standing career in architecture and in 1896 he moved into the Steinway Piano Building in Chicago and shared offices with Dwight Heald Perkins and Frank Lloyd Wright. He moved to Florida in 1930 to work for the University of Florida, where he stayed until 1934. This image near Gainesville, Florida, with Spanish moss seen in the trees, was produced during the aforementioned timeframe.
Condition
Frame: 26 1/4"h x 22 1/2"w x 1 1/4"d Sheet: 19 7/8" X 14 7/8" Light surface dirt. Toning to board. Light localized staining lower-left quadrant. Two pinholes left corners. Curved 3" tear/bend at lower-left edge in margin. Overall good condition.
