Circa 1890-1910, the Late Meiji Period. signed by the maker in good condition. The vibrant coloration of this piece, the detailed artwork throughout, and the detailed creation of the piece are certainly to be admired. The artwork of the piece conveys a scene where there are dragons (ryu or tatsu) are flying throughout a countryside with pagodas in the background as men are going about their daily lives. The handle, the spout, the ornamental top cover, and the layered work of the pottery are shaped in the mold of these dragons adding to the realism this piece evokes.
