Al Hirschfeld (1903-2003) was an American caricaturist best known for his black and white portraits of celebrities and Broadway stars. His caricatures are almost always drawings of pure line in black ink, as you can see from the image in this poster advertising the sale of the book, "Godfrey Daniels." Like many Hirschfeld drawings where he hides his daughter Nina's name throughout his work, there are 3 Nina's hidden within the image. The book contains over 800 frame-by-frame blow-ups and dialogue from the short films of W.C. Fields.
The poster is linen backed, measures 30" x 46" and is in excellent condition.
