Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, ca. 100 BCE to 400 CE. An opulent set of four labret plugs comprised of gold and silver. All four column-like labrets have lustrous golden hued cylindrical bodies and are adorned with copper ornaments that have developed gorgeous seafoam green and russet patina. Each ornament presents with a band of small spheres and a rectangular cube on its end, the second has the thickest ornament and the third the longest. Rare examples of ancient Moche facial jewelry! The first labret has a missing piece and small tear at its base, while all have minute nicks/chips at base. Expected scratches and slight bends to form as commensurate with age. Beautiful green and russet patina. Overall, excellent.
