Description
1835 Jardine Mammals Naturalist GIRAFFE Elk Deer Moose Camel Illustrated Animals

Sir William Jardine was a 19th-century Scottish naturalist most known for his extensive series of books on natural history, ‘The Naturalist’s Library’.

This fine 1835 edition of Jardine’s ‘Naturalist’s Library’ is beautifully illustrated with 35 color engravings of the world’s mammals! The plates from Jardine’s ‘Mammals’ are exceedingly desirable and are found framed and displayed by themselves. This volume showcases impressive illustrations of numerous large mammals including antelope, various species of deer, giraffe, wapiti and elk, moose, camels, and llamas.

Worth noting – this volume includes a false title page in addition to the true title page. The false leaf indicates the ‘lion and tigers’ volume and a later year. This volume is 1835 ‘Ruminantia’.
