Description
A Pair of Chinese Iron-Red and Grisaille-Decorated Bowls, Yonzheng Period. Both thinly potted and inscribed on one side with poetry from the Tang Dynasty with illegible iron-red seals, one bowl elegantly painted with a butterfly resting on a leafy gourd vine with curly tendrils accented with delicate iron-red details, and the other with a spreading branch bearing pomegranates and flowers. Yonzheng Period (1723-1735). {Diameter: 3 7/8 inches (9.9 cm)}. Provenance: Previously sold Christie's New York, March 17, 2017, lot 1217.
