possibly late Qing dynasty, each with stamped character mark and "China" on underside, each representing one of the Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology, polychrome glazed and painted embellishments, removable hand pieces, some holding accessories, on circular dome bases, tallest 9-5/8 in.
Provenance: Estate of the Late Janet N. and Clarence L. Adams, Jr., Raleigh, North Carolina
Condition
each with hole in base as made, surface dirt layer and accretion, scattered surface scratches and edge wear, minor losses to painted embellishments; one figure missing proper left hand, mother of pearl accent applied to cover hole; one figure with proper left hand glued into hole; one hand piece with chip and loss to thumb and accessory; one hand piece with break and repair to accessory (feather)
