Description
A stamped letter in the form of a folded Bill of Lading from Schooner Valient for delivering "One Box Merchandise" from T.W. Dyott to the Port of New York for Elijah Porter - Salem Mtts, dated May 7, 1831. The Bill of Lading is signed by D. Goldsmith. The paper also with a hand written authorization from T.W. Dyott to Mr. Seth Low to deliver the box to Elijah Porter. Thomas W. Dyott, a Philadelphia glass maker and an owner of the Dyottville Glass Works in Philadelphia (1771-1861). Provenance: From the James Becker collection, Walden NY.
