Description
Vintage French mantel clock, wooden casing, tower model with bronze ornamental smithery, the corners and feet also with decorative smithery and Fleur-de-lis ornaments. Engraved with an inscription, Je Sonne la Bonne Heure ( I Ring The Right Hour), above the dial. The bronze figurine of Nicholas I (Emperor of Russia, 1796–1855) wearing a double-headed eagle helmet, on the top of the clock. Brass dial with Roman black numerals, and delicate brass handle. Mechanical movement with the working timepiece and striking on full. Marked and numbered, 1928.7.2., inside. Including the wind-up key, marked with engraving, India 10. A fine example of a neo-Gothic French Table mantel clock.
