Pair of French walnut fauteuils in the Louis XVI taste, late 19th century, each having a chapeau gendarme crest rail centering a strapwork cartouche with flowers, flanked by rose stems, over a square back, the turned stiles transitioning to reeded and scrolled arms, the seat having a curved front rail with a repeating acanthus molding, upholstered in a tapestry style textile with rose and purple flowers on a cream ground, the whole rising on tapering fluted cylindrical legs terminating to toupie feet, 40.5"h x 25.5"w x 23.5"d, seats 18.5"h, arms 25"h.
