Description
This is likely a one of kind US Navy Mark V divers dress! For decades a US Navy Seal owned this dress, which also had a Mark V helmet, boots and weight belt attached to it. This canvas suit is covered in signatures of divers, many of which put their rank and in some cases a date on it. For example, a Jess Taylor; UDT-5; 1942 is one example. Over time many of the signatures have faded or are hard to pick-up with the camera. Despite this, this signed divers dress is quite impressive. <br
As mentioned above, the dress had a helmet and other gear on it for decades. After that much time, a lot of wear and tear has occurred to the dress. In addition, the dress is extremely stiff. There was a very heavy wood support structure inside the dress to prop up the display with helmet on top. Due to the nearly rock hard stiffness of the suit, it had to be partially cut open from the back in order to remove 75% of the inner wood support frame. As can be seen in the photos, the suit still stands upright by itself. Both of the legs still have wood supports inside.
It is possible this dive dress could be brought back to life and preserved considering the number of divers signatures present on it. Suit will be shipped with leg supports intact and packed as carefully as possible without further damaging the dress.
All items will be shipped with a signature required upon delivery and full insurance either via FedEx or the USPS Priority Mail. Worldwide shipping available. A shipping quote prior to the auction can be provided by emailing your postal code.
