Description
Three Aboriginal Shields and One Bowl Australia, early 20th century Wood with natural pigments. Two shields (wunda) and the bowl (coolamon) grooved in linear patterns on both sides; the large shield painted with red ocher and white pigments. In good condition, stains from use and time, probably original as collected; the larger wunda shield with length sides damaged. Provenance: Collected by Valentine Pasvolsky of Lakewood, NJ between 1930-1970 Lengths: ranging from 23 to 43 ½ inches
