Ancient Southeast Asia, Vietnam, Dong Son culture, ca. late 1st millennium BCE. A squat bowl formed from leaded-bronze via the lost-wax technique. The vessel presents with a round but stable base, a compressed body with a sharp carination, a sloped shoulder that narrows to form the projecting rim, and a pair of loop handles joining rim to shoulder. An enclosed register of raised stippling lines the shoulder and creates a personalized presentation. Thick layers of brown and green patina cover all surfaces. Size: 5.75" W x 2.8" H (14.6 cm x 7.1 cm)

Slight bending to form of base and rim, with two small perforations around rim, light encrustations, and softening to some stippling along shoulder, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits and great patina throughout.
