Northern Europe, The Netherlands, ca. 18th century CE. A gorgeous glazed porcelain plate that is embellished with a beautiful floral pattern. The dish has a small applied ring foot and a shallow basin. The opaque white glaze has a cobalt blue underglaze that creates the patterns. Around the lip is a yellow glaze that contrasts nicely with the blue hues. The wide rim boasts swirling vine and leaf motifs. The recessed tondo has a floral arrangement painted in a fan shape across half of the surface. A lovely piece of Dutch artistry which was heavily influenced by Chinese porcelain styles. Repaired from four pieces with visible adhesive residue and over painting. Hairline fissures radiating from break lines with small losses to center of basin. Chips and nicks to rim and abrasions to other areas. Vibrant blue glaze and a modern metal hardware mount.
