Description
Southeast Asia, Cambodia or Northern Thailand, Khmer Empire (Angkor culture), ca. 12th to 13th century CE. A beautiful stoneware urn with a deep olive green and brown glaze. The vessel rests on a flat foot with incised bands and ridges, that supports the piriform body. A tall neck with banding flares to a broad mouth. Ceramics during this period were made on potter wheels which increased pottery production to meet the demand for these elegant vessels. This piece has a slightly tilted profile, adding some unique charm to this hand-made urn! Size: 7" Diameter x 13" H (17.8 cm x 33 cm)
