North America, Native American, ca. 1920 to 1950. A pair of moccasins made with animal pelt and decorated with blue felt panels adorned by beaded eagles with profiled heads but frontal chests presenting expressive anthropomorphic faces - the beads of black, white, yellow, translucent orange, and sage green hues. The eagle is a cherished bird of prey that has traditionally symbolized wisdom, courage, strength, and vision for various indigenous cultures of the Northwest Coast. In addition, the eagle is believed to protect both the body and spirit, ensuring health and wellness of the whole being. Size: 11" L x 3.75" W x 3.625" H (27.9 cm x 9.5 cm x 9.2 cm)

Condition
Expected age wear with some loss to the pelt. A few minute holes to the blue felt. Beading is well preserved. Overall in very good condition.
