This book features a hand written cover page and an extensive handwritten section at the end of the book but the story itself is on printed pages. Also featured in this book are extensive margin notes and scribbles.This book comes from a collection of 22 vellum and leather bound ecclesiastic themed books, most appearing to be protestant as opposed to catholic or eastern orthodox, listed in lots and separately from the collection of Dr. George Lawrence Scherger.

Condition of Cover and Pages, any Discoloration Of Binding and/or Spine:Staining and foxing to the pages, some wear to the covers and some insect damage. Book has undergone extensive restoration having been rebound, pieces added, pages cleaned and trimmed to fit the new covers.

Indiana University, University of Leipzig, University of Berlin, Cornell University PhD 1899. 3rd president of Columbia College in Chicago 1927-1929. Professor of history, Armour Institute of Technology (now the Illinois Institute of Technology). Minister, musician, writer, historian, educator and author of the evolution of modern liberty. The pallbearers at his funeral were Illinois governor Dwight H. Green, Chicago mayor Edward joseph Kelly, US senator Wayland Brooks and Oscar Mayer.
