Bronze and Brass and plate, measures 7" tall 7 1/2" long, and 4 1/2" deep. each piece bears an English trademark of 1870's. There are three flag holding vessels one for England one for India and one for Pakistan The story that comes from the estate who are from England is extraordinary. As the story goes when in 1947 the day in August that India celebrated it's Independence from England, This fabulous antique elephant was presented to Lord Mountbatten on behalf of his efforts to give India it's Independence. The statue was presented by Jawahariaz Nehru on behalf of the Indian people. On its own this is a fabulous 19th century relic, but with this story from the family it makes it priceless.
