A Shibuichi Hamano School Tsuba by Kanzui, and a Shakudo Nanako Tsuba by Yoshimitsu. The first, carved in relief with turtles with gold-inlaid eyes swimming through meandering rivers scattered with gold-inlaid lotus flowers, signed Ichiyo-do Kanzui (or Hiroyuki); the second, decorated with a frog, grasshopper, snail, dragonfly, mantis, rhinoceros beetle, ladybug, and butterfly in high relief with gilt highlights against a finely stippled ground, signed Choshu Hagi ju Yoshimitsu. Edo period. {First: 2 1/8 inches (5.4 cm) long; second: 3 1/8 inches (7.9 cm) long}.
