Featured in this lot is this knobkerrie war club, circa 1950's, from the Zulu nation, South Africa. The war club shows excellent craftsmanship with hand carved and shaped knob head. A knobkerrie, also spelled knobkerry, knobkierie, and knopkierie, is a form of club used mainly in Southern and Eastern Africa. Typically they have a large knob at one end and can be used for throwing at animals in hunting or for clubbing an enemy's head. The condition of this knobkerrie is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurement of this knobkerrie is 34" long.
