Description
Featured in this lot is this brass knuckles pair originating from the mid-20th century. These knuckles show cast steel or iron construction with a simple and sturdy design. Brass knuckles, also known as knuckledusters, an English punch, or simply knuckles, were designed for use in hand-to-hand or close quarters fighting. The knuckles are designed to protect the users hand while increasing damage dealt. Brass knuckles saw common use during the first and second World Wars, often integrated into knife handles. Knuckles are restricted in some countries and states. This set of knuckles shows good condition overall, with a warm patina across the piece. The measurements of this pair of brass knuckles are 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" x 1/4" and 2 1/2" x 4" x 1/4".
