A Chinese Eight Panel Coromandel Lacquer Floor Screen,
Qing Dynasty, the front depicting figures at various activities amongst a garden with whimsical scenes with a repetitive border of gilt oval medallions, the reverse depicting spotted deer amongst pine trees with small flowering plants and lingzhi fungus next to a flowing brook, signed Liu Wangwen, bearing a poetic inscription and date inscription for the 22nd year of the Kangxi reign with the artist's seal.
Height 72 x width of each panel 16 inches.
Purchased by Frank Lloyd Wright and displayed at Taliesin North, Spring Green, Wisconsin until 1935.
Accompanied by a letter from John U. Ottenheimer, Architect, Taliesin Fellow.
