EARLY 20TH C. MARINE SEXTANTMahogany boxed sextant, with multiple scopes, mirrors and glass intact, "made by Chas. C. Hutchinson Boston", dovetailed case, crack in back part of lid, box - 4" h, 7" w, 6 3/4" d, brass plaque on lid "Championship Boston Yacht Club, Class 2 won by 'Eleanore', 1907, Presented by Benjamin P. Cheney" (1866-1942), director of Wells Fargo & Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad, includes a copy of the obit of Francis W. Fabyan of Boston who owned the Yacht Eleanor, the Eleanore was designed and built by Herreshoff.
