1875 1st ed Jules Verne Wreck of the Chancellor Britain Ship Fiction Illustrated

Jules Verne’s adventure novels are some of the most popular and famous works of literature of all time. Known mostly for his works of science fiction, ‘Voyages Extraordinaires’ was Verne’s largest collection of fantasy novels and stories. Verne’s ‘Wreck of the Chancellor’ is the story of the final voyage of British sailing ship the Chancellor, told from the perspective of the diary one of its passengers. At the beginning of its voyage, the Chancellor carried eight passengers and twenty crew members, but tragically, by the end, only eleven people remained alive.
This first American edition was published in Boston by Osgood.
