Description
After William Hogarth (English, 1697-1764): Industry and Idleness. Engraving on paper. Engraved by F.F. Walker, from the original design by Hogarth in 1833. Framed. The last scene from a series of 12 engravings created by William Hogarth in 1747, charting the careers of two City apprentices. Created to send a message to working children of the possible rewards of hard work and diligent application and the sure disasters attending a lack of both.
