Description
A pair of newspaper sections, one from The Arizona Sentinel (May 31, 1873), the other, The Arizona Daily Star (October 9, 1879). Besides all the wonderful ads for bitters, restaurants, cure-alls, even a hair "saloon", there are stories about a "mini-war" in the San Diego, California region between the US Army and a band of Kickapoo Indians and an article in "The Star" about a man named A. Leggon Esq. who came to Tucson in search of long distance walkers, so he can hold a three day walking race called "go as you please walk" for which the winner will receive $100 in gold coin (I'm not making this up). Please see photos for more detail and condition.Date: 1873/1879Country (if not USA): State: ArizonaCity: Yuma/TucsonProvenance:
