A chip-carved gilt silver bird-head terminal with open beak; tapering cylindrical socket decorated with chevrons between borders and pierced twice for attachment; tear-drop-shaped eyes with double wall; open beak with rectangular-section lower beak and triangular-section upper beak. 22.5 grams, 48mm (2"). Ex collection of a Surrey, UK, gentleman; acquired on the UK art market; previously on the European art market before 2000.
