A Chinese blue-ground embroidered tablecloth dating from the 19th century. It is decorated with roundels of flowers and scholarly objects, which are arranged around a central roundel with butterflies. Flowers, butterflies, and jewels are scattered between all the roundels.

Dimensions are: 85 inches tall X 70 1/2 inches wide, 215.9 cm X 179.1 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: There is creasing and loose threads. There are some areas of repair to the backing.

Provenance: From a private Northern Virginia collection. Collected in the early 20th century by the current owner's grandparents during their time stationed in China working for Standard Oil.
