Signed Jose Reyes Nantucket Seahorse Purse Basket

Jose Reyes Nantucket Seahorse Cocktail Bag Purse Basket. The woven Nantucket cocktail bag or purse is signed with the Jose Formoso Reyes" signature with an outline of "Nantucket" also marked "Nantucket" and dated illegibly. The bag is in" excellent condition with no breaks or damage. The clasp is strong and fits snugly to the bag. There is a carved ivory sea horse mounted on the bag. Included with the purse is the original receipt from 1998 for a Jose Reyes cocktail bag with Nancy Chase sea horse. The price at that time was $1900. There is a note on the receipt "Tried to clean around sea horse". It appears that instead of cleaning the seahorse they just replaced it with another seahorse facing left because there is a" similarly carved seahorse facing right that is included with this purse. Measures 8" high x 8" wide x 6 ½" deep.
