Bible, double column, Gothic letter, title and a few other ff. printed in red and black, title with a large ornate architectural vignette, woodcut illustrations and vignettes ( a few full-page) and decorative and historiated initials, R6 and 2C10 blank, early ink marginalia thorughout in at least two different hands, title trimmed and laid down, just touching title at head, a few preliminary ff. with inner margins repaired, short tear to t4, within text, but with no loss, small section torn out of outer margin of z6, some marginal water-staining (heavier to last few ff, encroaching within text), a few stains, occasional light soiling, antique style calf, [Darlow & Moule 6101], folio, [Lyons], [J. Sacon for A. Koberger], 1518. Provenance: Edward O'Reilly, London, 1770 (ink signatures).***A scarce bible, attractively printed, and with extensive evidence of early scholarship..
