19th century Continental bronze equestrian sculpture in the manner of Giambologna, known also as Jean de Boulogne, (Flanders/Italy 1529-1608) depicting Felipe III of Spain holding a mace, wearing a square crowned hat with feather decoration, a beard and mustache trimmed to a van Dyke point, a ruff collar, and a cuirass with segmented armor draped with a chivalric sash, the mount steps lively and is equipped in saddle and bridle, breast collar, breeching and crupper, 33"h x 29"w x 13"d. The original stands in Plaza Mayor, Madrid, Spain.
