Includes a Salvidor Dali etching of "Don Quixote," SLR and marked, E.A on lower left. . stands for “épreuve d'artiste,” meaning Artist's Proof in French. and viewable area measuring approx. 12"l by 17.5"h. Provenance: Consignor states that it has been in the family for approximately 40 years. He acquired the collection when his wife passed about a year ago. His wife acquired the collection from her parents when they passed away. The parents were art collectors. They acquired through purchase and were given as gifts pieces from their friends who owned an art gallery in Chicago. The Chases. Merrill Chase was a well established photographer in his earlier years. He moved to Chicago in 1935. In the 1970's his clients started buying original art as a hedge against inflation. in 1975 he contracted with noted artist Salvador Dali to produce a series of 10 paintings. Showings of originals by such renowned artists Picasso, and Miro were not uncommon at Chase Galleries. You will see all of these artist's work in this sale
