From the estate of Lockheed engineer Milt Steen. Includes two color photos of an initial mock-up of the final NERVA (Nuclear Engine for Rocket Vehicle Application) display, 23 photos of von Braun and others examining the display, and two aerial photos of Moffett Field in California.

On display in a Moffett Field hangar was Lockheed’s plan for RIFT (Reactor In-Flight Test]) of NERVA (Nuclear Engine for Rocket Vehicle Application), a program to develop a 20,000 MegaWatt nuclear thermal energy engine that could propel a heavy rocket to the moon. The Lockheed report relates to the proposal for the insulation of liquid hydrogen in the test cylinders in the initial test of NERVA.
